Commenting on the development, Rajeev Joisar, Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Mobility Business, said the project reflects the increasing emphasis on sustainable and efficient urban transportation systems in the country.
"As India continues to invest in sustainable urban transportation, the development of a strong local manufacturing and technology ecosystem becomes increasingly important," he said.
The project is expected to contribute to the expansion and modernization of Pune’s metro network, enhancing public transportation capacity and commuter connectivity in the city. It also reinforces Siemens’ position as a key technology partner in India's urban transit ecosystem, delivering advanced mobility solutions that support the country's long-term infrastructure and sustainability goals.
